This charming old world style, 65 seat puppet theatre is just a few blocks north of Circle Center in downtown Indianapolis in the Indiana State Museum. Ideal for school groups, scouts, birthday parties and reserved parties. Peggy Melchior, Debbi White and Heidi Shackleford, of MMHP Puppet Productions Inc., present captivating creative puppet shows for children, puppet making day camps and workshops. PARKING at Peewinkle's

Convenient parking is available in the underground garage directly in front of the ISM, off of West Washington St. Parking is $5 when visiting Peewinkle's Puppet Studio or the museum. Please have your parking ticket validated at the ISM ticket counter.

Group rates, 20 or more, available only on $12-$13 tickets.

Free field trip pricing, to the museum, applies to all accredited Indiana K-12 schools who visit on a pre-scheduled, chaperoned visit and homeschool groups of 10 or more. Preschools, afterschool programs and summer day camps pay group admission. For more field trip info visit:

Peewinkle's Puppet Camps

All camps 9am - 4pm - Tuition $200
Campers bring sack lunch, snacks/drinks. Each camp begins with a show by Peewinkle puppeteers and ends with a camper show for families. Limit 12 campers. Sessions 1 & 2 have repeat content.

Puppet Fun at Peewinkle's - Ages 6 - 8
Session 1 - June 3 - 7
Session 2 - June 24 - 28
Campers will make a sea worthy hand puppet, marionette, mouth puppet and black light puppet. They will sand, paint, cut, sew and design their way through camp.

Strings & Things Puppet Camp
Ages 9 and up
Session 1 - June 3 - 7
Session 2 - June 24 - 28
Campers will make an octopus marionette, black light jelly fish and design a shadow puppet show.

Advance Puppetry Camp - (Invitation only)
July 8 - 12
This camp is designed for our PIPS. Content is determined by campers. Sewing, drilling, painting, stringing and performing are all included. Campers are required to bring their own tool kits (sewing machines if they have).

Camps begin with a show by Peewinkle puppeteers and conclude with a camper show for families. Campers will construct a variety of puppets, try out some professional puppets and perform. They will cut, paint, sand and more! A great camp for the creative child.

Birthday Parties at Peewinkle's Puppet Studio

Looking for something a bit different for a birthday party? Peewinkle's Puppet Studio at the Indiana State Museum is the place! You can purchase tickets to a scheduled show and let us know there is a birthday child, we will be sure to make him or her feel special. Want a bit more? Rent the studio after the show for your party. We provide a puppet workshop, you provide the refreshments. Still looking for something a bit more? How about a 'Mini Camp'!!! Bring your child and friends to the puppet studio for a 2 hour camp (see a mini show, make a puppet and learn how to use it). Email Debbi with questions or to set up your party.
